BSW, Post Grad Dip Family Therapy, Master of Couple & Relationship Counselling

Maria is a trained Social Worker, Couple and Family Therapist. She is accredited as a Mental Health Social Worker and is a Clinical Member of the Australian Association of Family Therapy.

Additional to her initial study she has had further training in CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

Maria has over 30 years' experience working within a number of programs in the health and community sector including: Youth Outreach, Family Services, Drug and Alcohol, Family Violence and Child Protection.

Dr Kerry Proctor

Dr. Kerry Proctor is a registered Psychologist and Family Therapist.

Kerry (her/she) completed her Masters in Family Therapy at the Bouverie Centre/La Trobe University in 1998, and her PhD in 2006. She has worked extensively in schools, community and mental health services, The Bouverie Family Therapy Centre for twenty years, Juvenile Justice (Parkville), and most recently at MacKillop Family Services as Principal Practitioner. (Family Services and OOHC). She has a worked with complex families, sexually diverse families, Indigenous families in Community and young people and their carers in residential and foster care settings.

Kerry has a great deal of experience in working with individual, couples and families dealing with a wide range of difficulties. She has a particular interest in with working with blended families, anxiety and stress management, depression, relationship issues, trauma recovery, pain management and rehabilitation, sexual diversity, personal growth and coping with life transitions. Her practice is LGBTQI+inclusive. She has extensive experience of delivering supervision (group and individual) within organisations and in private practice and consulting to organisations around clinical and workplace management issues. Robert has been a counsellor for twenty years and these days he specialises in working with couples, parents and families. As much as he enjoys joining with you in a collaborative change endeavour – and he really does enjoy it – his goal is to make himself redundant as quickly as possible. To this end he tries to keep up with the leading edge of clinical best practice, which means advances in neuroscience, trauma treatments, and the connection between psychological distress and the body.

In addition to standard 50-minute appointments Robert also offers 80 minute appointments. Yet another option is a 110-minute single-session consultation, which doesn’t assume any regular ongoing treatment and includes pre-session information gathering as well as post-session follow up by telephone.
